WHY IT WORKS
THE INGREDIENTS
Just a few...
Seriously simple and effective.
CALENDULA OIL
Calendula is one of our favorite flowers for the skin. It has many properties that include anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial, antiseptic, and antioxidant. It soothes irritated skin by preventing it from drying out and reducing the likelihood of itching and scabbing. It also reduces the risk of scarring by promoting healthy tissue growth, which is important for maintaining the appearance of the tattoo. We even use calendula to mitigate sunburns and even sooth itch caused by bug bites and eczema!
TEA TREE OIL
Maybe every ingredient is our favorite... Tea tree speeds up the healing process by reducing inflammation and redness, and preventing scarring and infection. It's antimicrobial property has many widespread uses.
SHEA BUTTER
Shea butter has majority of the properties as our other ingredients, including anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial, antioxidant, rich in fatty acids and vitamins, moisturizing, strengthens the skin's natural barrier, and skin cell regeneration... It is also non-comedogenic, which means it does not clog pores. This is important for keeping the tattooed skin clear and preventing breakouts.
ARNICA OIL
Arnica has an amazing root that has anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial, and analgesic properties that help minimize any bruising, swelling, and possibly pain associated with tattoo application. In conjunction with it's moisturizing properties, it plays a big part in creating a smoother healing process. Arnica is also often used to ease muscle pain and tension, which is helpful during the application process. It's not lidocaine, but it eases those "twitches".
ROSE HIP OIL
Rose hip oil is rich in essential fatty acids, such as omega-3 and omega-6, which help maintain the skin’s barrier and promote healing. This is particularly beneficial for the healing process of a new tattoo. It also stimulates collagen production which aids in skin elasticity and helps to keep those inks bright! As with most of the other ingredients, it's also an anti-inflammatory and antioxidant.
COCONUT OIL
Not only does coconut oil strengthen the skin's natural barrier, helping to protect the tattooed area from environmental damage and promoting overall skin health, but it also is an excellent moisturizer and a natural emollient, which is important for maintaining the appearance and integrity of the tattoo.
BEESWAX
Beeswax forms a protective barrier on the skin’s surface, shielding the tattooed area from environmental irritants and contaminants while allowing the skin to breathe. It also improves the skin's elasticity and the vitamin A content supports cell reconstruction and health, which helps speed up the healing process of the tattooed skin. Perhaps most importantly, it's gentle and non-irritating, making it suitable for sensitive skin
